I started drawing her as a sketch, with nothing in mind except maybe androids. The cold expression and lack of emotion... I've been watching Ghost in the Shell and that has influenced my sketched as of late. She was an android until about yesterday, when I erased all of her wires. They didn't really look like I wanted them too and the background didn't go well with them. The background won. Next step: spraying with workable fixatif and then perhaps layers of acrylic wash. More pics to come.

Yes, this is the piece that I ripped my banner from! Grim Metropolis. Prismacolor colored pencils and acrylic on illustration board. There's also some modeling paste on it. The stop sign, tree roots, and clouds are all raised off of the surface.

Yes, my blog looks sterile and empty; but wait! Here are some new sketches to hopefully encourage you to come back. A preview, if you will. I hope to have this art blog schnazzed up by the end of this weekend. I'll have my profile info up as well as an artist statement and hopefully a place to buy prints.
